Lululemon: Sweatlife Festival 2019

Last weekend I spent two days getting sweaty, zen and mindful with 6000 other people at the Sweatlife Festival hosted by Lululemon at the Tobacco doc in London. This is the first time I have ever attended anything like this and it was the best thing I have ever done! The festival runs over two days and includes unlimited yoga classes, unlimited meditation and two classes run by different studios around London per day. I thought I’d run through the highlights of my weekend and the classes that I attended!



I started the weekend with a 9:00 am spin class called Ride 45 hosted by Psycle. I usually don’t really get into spin classes because I don’t find them very motivating and end up lowering the resistance on the bike, but this class was something else. I came out dripping, I don’t think I have ever sweat as much as I did in that class in my entire life. The girl next to me was fanning herself and I thought, if you’re feeling as hot as I am that fan is not going to help! It was intense but it was amazing, the woman running the class was incredibly motivating and created an atmosphere of ‘you can do anything’ which is just what you need when your dying on a bike! I enjoyed this class so much that I have actually looked into attending more of their classes and that says something because I am not or was not a spinner at all!

The second class I attended on Saturday was called Frame Rave hosted by Frame. This was basically an aerobic dance class which sounds pretty boring but it was the most fun I have ever had working out. It felt like a group of friends clubbing except my feet didn’t hurt and I felt good after! The guy running the class was a trained dancer and really hyped everyone up! It was so lovely to see people moving their bodies in a way that feels good and enjoying it rather than dying! Don’t get me wrong I was getting sweaty but it wasn’t the most challenging class of the weekend! That being said I would definitely do it again!


The first class of my second day was a Calisthenics class run by Jermaine Straker. I signed up to this class because I have followed individuals on Instagram who take part in calisthenics and I wanted to give it a go. The layout of the class went a bit like: here are your exercises, go do them, which I wasn’t a fan of. From my understanding thats how calisthenics classes are run but for me personally I prefer having someone tell me what to do or having someone to be accountable to. The exercises reminded me a lot of conditioning in gymnastics so it wasn’t my favourite but I’m so glad I went because I have been intrigued about this type of training for a while.

My last class of the weekend was Sweatbolic Conditioning hosted by Crossfit London. I signed onto this class, again, because I have been interested in crossfit for a while.  It was amazing! We had to pair up with someone and the perform a series of exercises: 50 calories on the air bike (who invented air bikes?!), 100 kettlebell swings, 80 snatches, 60 v-up’s, 40 clean press, 20 burpees. As a pair we split the number of each exercise between us and while one was working the other was resting. It was a hard class, probably the hardest but it felt so good! Being in a pair was so motivating for me and really made me push myself so I absolutely loved it!

Yoga and Meditation

Over the course of the weekend I attended 3 yoga classes; Align , Explore, Awaken with Mia Togo, Coming Back to Earth with Chloe Faulkner and Yoga Conditioning with Katie Silver. I loved every single one of these classes. Each one was such a different style and each instructor was so different. Yoga conditioning was the most challenging because it incorporated the flow and flexibility of yoga as it usually is but also an element of strength and conditioning training. Basically: very sweaty.

As for meditation, I only made it to one class as all the others were full. I was disappointed that I didn’t manage to get a place on any of the RE: Mind classes however, the one meditation I did attend was mind blowing. I have never been someone who finds it easy to meditate, I’v never really understood it honestly but this class was the best of the whole weekend. It was called Breathe In and Bliss Out with Breathwork by Richie Bostock. During the class we went through two types of breathing which make your fingertips and face feel tingly with pins and needles (sounds odd I know) and then after a while you don’t really know if you’re awake, asleep or in another dimension. If you ever get a chance to attend a class like this I could’t recommend it more, It is  game changer.

Everyone that is apart of Lululemon or associated with them is so motivating and inspiring it’s incredible which is why I am so glad I attended a few of the talks. On Saturday I went to Do Less but Better hosted by Lululemon. The talk went over how being busy can be associated with success which doesn’t have to be the case. They discussed how putting your energy into lots of things won’t give you the outcome you wish for if you were to put the majority of your energy into the thing you love most. I found it hard to relate to the things other people were sharing but I still found the talk eye opening. On Sunday morning I attended Goal Setting that Works which did what it says in the title, helped on setting goals and achieving them. It was really inspiring to hear other peoples goals as well when we shared. The last talk I went to was the Science behind Wellness hosted by Dr. Anjali Mahto (a dermatologist), Dr. Zoe Williams (a GP) and Dr. Christopher George (a GP). The three of them went through and myth busted a whole load of information and trends around wellness heath and fitness which I, personally, found really interesting.

In between going to classes, yoga, meditation and talks there was a variety of food trucks which smelled and tasted AMAZING, a market place giving out free samples of more AMAZING food, goal setting trees to share your goals, a Lululemon store and a mermaid cave with free glitter designs and hair do’s. Overall I had the best time. I will definitely be attending the festival again next year, it’s such an amazing feeling to be around people who are interested in the same things as you which I’ve never really had when it comes to health fitness. The atmosphere was incredible and it might give Glastonbury a run for it’s money!

Podcast Favourites

Hey everyone, summer is in full swing and this past week I’ve been working a lot so thought I’d do more of a chilled out post. But don’t worry the next few weeks are going to be jam packed with exciting things!

Recently I have been listening to a lot of podcasts on my walks to work or while at the gym instead of music. It’s a different way of checking out by being able to focus on the podcast topic completely. I have also learnt a lot too so I thought I’d share some of my favourite channels. I listen to all of my podcasts on the apple podcast app.

Fit and Fearless

This podcast had to be my absolute favourite, It’s my go to 90 percent of the time. The podcast is run by the girl gains; three girls Tally Rye, Zanna Van Dijk and Victoria Niamh who are fitness influencers/PT’s. The podcasts features a different special guest each week where they chat about having a healthy relationship with food, your body and exercise while busting myths within the fitness industry. It’s quite a specific topic relating to exercise and working out so might not appeal to everyone. However, I do think it is a must to listen to especially in todays society!

Power Hour

I find this podcast really motivating. Adrienne Herbert chats with a different guest each week about their life an their believes, the things they are passionate about. Towards the end of each episode she asks them about their morning routine, otherwise known as their power hour. The power hour is the idea of waking up one hour earlier to utilise that time to do what you need or want. It’s interesting to hear about other peoples morning routines and can be very motivating and inspiring too!

I love this podcast. Since turning 20 life has been a bit crazy. No one knows what they’re doing but it feels like everyone else knows and you’re the only one who doesn’t. It’s nothing like being in high school where your friends are given to you and everything your suppose to do is what you have to do. And you’re no longer a teenager so you can’t blame everything on that either. This podcast approaches the challenges of adulthood that no one ever talks about or teaches you about, from friends to money and everything you can think of in-between. It’s honestly a life saviour and a must listen for anyone heading into their twenties ad beyond!

Climate Queens

This a fairly new podcast which releases once a month so there aren’t many episodes to binge on. I find this one the most educational to all the ones I have listened to. Katie and Clodagh discuss the human impact on the planet revealing shocking statistics that are honestly quite scary followed by things we can do to help! So far they have covered fast fashion and food waste. Both episodes are eye opening and informative so are great to listen to if you want to educate yourself on what you can do for the planet! I can’t wait to see what this podcast brings in the future!

Positively Selfish

This podcast by Robyn Lee focuses on putting yourself first, doing whats best for you and not being apologetic about it. The most important person in your life is you. Amongst this special guests are featured and they discuss all manner of topics and everything life throws at you. Some guests include The Fashion Fitness Foodie (Lucy Mountain), Tally Rye and Dr. Joshua Wolrich. It’s another chit chat podcast but a must listen honestly!

This podcast is run by Laura Thomas, a registered nutritionist so I personally love it! She talks about all things wellness featuring guests who have their foot in the wellness industry from doctors to bloggers and mindful experts. I personally love how this podcasts takes nutrition from all angles which is why I listen to it. Although a lot of her episodes are nutrition based, other topics are covered such as freelancing, hormones and education and there are so many to choose from!

Currently these are my top podcasts and I tend to go through phases of listening to a lot of one series at a time. There are so many I have queued up that I cant wait to listen to such as Obsessed with Killing Eve (on the BBC sounds app), Well Far: the running podcast and Give me Strength with Alice Liveing. Kew Gardens

Hey everyone! This week I took a visit to Kew Gardens. My last memory of visiting here was a school trip in Primary School so it was so fun to have a wonder around! I mainly took this visit to work on some photography and learn more about my camera so I thought I’d use this blog post to share some of those photos with you guys!

However, I would highly recommend visiting here! It’s such a lovely day out especially if the weather is nice. There is so much to see and you can have picnics allover the grounds!

B_ND Review

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening. I am back with summer blogging since I have finished my second year of uni and have a few lined up for this month. I thought I’d start it off with a review of the B_ND resistance bands (previously known as Grace Fit Bands). I initially bought a Grace Fit band about a year ago in Heavy strength and it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever purchased. Since the brand’s change in direction I purchased a few more items and have been so impressed! I love that all the products are vegan and it feels good to support a more ethical brand!

Short Resistance Bands

These are the original bands and the first thing I bought. They are priced at £14 each which, for the quality is amazing. They are made of a thick fabric which stops the bunching up and cutting into your skin like rubber bands do. There are a variety of strengths which is so inclusive from light to extra extra heavy. Oh, and did I mention they come in the cutest patterns and colours too! Each band purchase comes with a glute workout guide. What I love most about these bands is how they intensify your workout. I use them in every exercise I can; squats, leg press, hip thrusts… They are also great for taking away with you so you can train while travelling!

Long Resistance Band

These were released in the new launch a few weeks ago with the rebranding and I was honestly most excited about these. I’ve been looking into getting a long band to support my chin up’s so when I found out these were coming I knew I had to get my hands on them. Unfortunately they sold out before I could in the initial release and then I only managed to get a medium on the second time round. But I have finally ordered the light and heavy and am waiting on their arrival. So far I have only used the medium to warm up on upper body days and with stretching, but I am still in love with it. They are so versatile and can be used in any workout. I love how you can do a full body workout just using this one band so no wonder they are so popular. They are made of the same fabric as the short bands and come in light, medium and heavy all in super cute colours! These are slightly more expensive than the short bands: £16 each but you are definitely getting your moneys worth!

Barbell Pad

I have been meaning to buy one of these ever since I first started training! They are A-MAZE-ING! If your not sure what these are for, let me explain. When they designed barbells, they did not consider how the metal bar digs in when you add any sort of weight to it. You can get used to the shoulder bruises; when I stopped squatting for a while and came back to it, after my first session my shoulders hurt more than my legs but I don’t get any shoulder pain now. However, I will never get used to 60/70 kg digging into your hip bones. I have used other barbell pads from the gym, but they have all been rubbish. This one however, is a game changer! It fits nice and tightly around the bar to stop it slipping around, the velcro is so strong so there is no concern of it coming undone and you can’t feel the bar at all! It really helps having nothing to distract you from your burning glutes! These are priced at only £15 and also come in a variety of super cute colours!

Ankle Straps

Before purchasing these I had never done cable kicks on the gym. I did for the fist time and wow oh wow they were painful! When I first opened them I thought they were going to be massive around my ankles but they actually fit really well and feel of really good quality. They sell at £14 for one pair and guess what? They come in lots of cute colours!

All in all if you are on the fence about any of these products or just want something to spice up your workout I would highly recommend checking these out!!

Banana Breakfast Muffins

Hey guys! I know I’ve been nonexistent for a few months but I’m back with the plan to blog every week from now through summer – we’ll see how that goes! You can sign up to email notifications to make sure you never miss a post!! Thought i’d kick this month off with some yummy muffins for all…

If you’re looking for an afternoon pick me up or something to treat yourself with after a tough workout these vegan, banana and dark chocolate muffins are just the thing.

Makes 12      Cooking time 25 minutes       Vegan



  • 3 bananas
  • ½ cup of plant milk of your choice (almond is my go to)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 70 grams of dark chocolate

For decoration

  • Thick peanut butter
  • Cacao chips



  1. Pre heat the oven to 180’ c
  2. In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon
  3. In a medium bowl mash up the bananas and mix together with the plant milk and vanilla extract
  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry
  5. Add the crushed dark chocolate and mix them into the batter
  6. Fill up the cake cases and cook for 22-26 minutes
  7. Allow the muffins to cool and top with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a sprinkle of cacao chips

I have calculated the macros below for you all – the breakdown of protein, carbohydrate and fat per muffin! If any of you give this recipe a try let me know what you think in the comments!

Calories: 172 calories

Protein: 2.5 grams

Fat: 6 grams

Carbohydrate: 27 grams

This blog post is majorly overdue but it’s here!

Starting 2019 as we mean to go on!

At the beginning of January we headed to Amsterdam for 4 days and were actual tourists for once. Usually when we do city breaks we don’t really do a lot because, honestly, were lazy. I’m going to share some of the highlights from our trip and recommendations for you guys to check out if you ever visit!



On the first morning that we woke up in the city we headed out for brunch at Bakers and Roasters. We initially thought it was a “hole in the wall” but after further research we realised it was part of  branch! Regardless, BEST FRENCH TOAST EVER! The place is very popular so expect to wait, we never waited more than 10 minutes to be seated. I ordered the banana nut french toast from the menu and it was amazing! They sell a lot of eggs and also milkshakes but the french toast was my favourite. We loved this place so much that we went back on our last morning and I ordered the same thing! Definitely give this place a visit, the atmosphere is so laid back and feels like your small local cafe that you’d head to on a Sunday morning while living in the city!


Bike Hire

The hostel we were staying at had bikes you could hire for 12 euros a day. It was really useful for us to have access to them at the hostel as it meant we didn’t need to drop them off anywhere before coming back in the evening. We only rented them from a day and I almost died multiple times. Cycling on the side wrong side of the road is actually a very complicated process. However, cycling is definitely the best way to get around in Amsterdam! It gives you so much freedom and you really get to experience it like you live there. One of my favourite moments was waking up on the first morning and cycling to brunch, it’s so simple but I felt at home!


Boat Tours

As you probably know, Amsterdam is built on a swamp with canals running through the streets. Over the time we went an event called the Amsterdam light show was taking place and I was very motivated to see it. It’s a series of light art instalments placed around the city! Instead of cycling or walking around we decided to take a night boat tour. I began googling different companies and one popped out at me: Those Damn Boat Guys. The only reason I headed to their website was because of their name and once I was there I was not disappointed. They had so many little jokes on their webpage and came across so laid back. You were able to bring your own food and drink to have on the trip and you were allowed to smoke. The tours are usually only about 10 people so we booked tickets for only 25 euros each and headed to the meeting place the next day. The meeting place is a small cafe not far from the Anne Frank House. Its a really nice place with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We sat and drank hot chocolate before the tour. There ended up only being four of us on the tour which was really nice. We went this couple from Chicago. The driver was so laid back and engaging and took us on a detour of the red light district. He shared so much knowledge with us about the city it was so interesting but also really informal which just makes you feel at ease. As for the light instalments, they were amazing. My favourite ones were the ones that hung over the canals such as the hanging lanterns. Angel was a bit dubious about the tour and wasn’t sure how good it would be but ended up really enjoying it. Coffee Shops

When in Amsterdam!!

We visited a few coffee shops while in the city and noticed that the type of atmosphere inside counts. One of the most famous coffee shops is the Bulldog with multiple shops in the city and even a hotel. Honestly, its loud and packed and not a nice environment to be in. It doesn’t make you want to spend time in there. However, we did visit a few that were, well, how they should feel: down to earth, relaxed and chilled. Our first favourite was Bas Jo a small coffee shop off one of the canals not far from the red light district. The first time visited we sat outside as it was too busy inside and a homeless man came up to us and started telling us jokes for money. The staff in the shop were really friendly and chatty and that immediately makes you feel at home.When we sat in it was a lot quieter making it feel more chilled out not intimidating at all.


Our second favourite place we found was called internet cafe. We went in one morning as we were walking past. It goes underground and again was far from the hustle and bustle of the Bull Dog. We went back to this one too and played pool for ages (because were both rubbish). The guys in there were so friendly too, even when I left my water bottle behind!


Our third favourite place was called Rookies. We went here to kill some time just before we headed to the airport for our flight home. Again, the atmosphere here was just right. Not too noisy or busy and just a nice environment to sit in.

It’s hard to really understand why we liked these coffeeshops the best, all I can say is the atmosphere and for me personally atmosphere is a big deal. If I don’t feel comfortable somewhere then it’s not a nice place to be. This can come from the staff or the noise or the temperature or even the other customers. Overall the above three were favourite so I would highly recommend checking them out and let me know what you like or don’t like about them!

And so the Adventure Begins

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas eating, drinking and being merry. As some of you may know I took a break from blogging over the Christmas period mainly so I could focus on what I wanted to do for the New Year.

As the new year rolls in I thought I’d reflect on my blogs first year and some of the highlights and explore some goals I have for 2019!

This year has brought a visit to my favourite city yet, San Fransisco,


opened my heart to the American National Parks,


seen the beginning of my bullet journal journey,


and introduced me to the best cookies I’ve ever tasted!


2019 is finally here and that brings many of us new goals and aspirations. Last year I only really had three New Years resolutions: read more (I finished one book which is probably more than the year before so tick), learn Spanish (I’ve been off and on with duolingo) and learn to drive (I’m well on my way to accomplishing this in early 2019). All in all they weren’t a complete blow but I do intend on accomplishing more this year.

If I was to describe 2019 in one word I’d say focused. Just because I really want to excel in my blog posts, in school, with my driving. There’s a lot I’d like to achieve! Here are a few goals/aspirations/resolutions…

  • Follow a pescatarian diet
  • Publish two blog posts a week
  • Incorporate more yoga daily
  • Reduce screen time/mindless scrolling
  • Make time for Spanish practice
  • Better sleep patterns
  • More productive days

Avocado Choc Chip Cookies

Here is a very special new recipe for you guys to try out and I highly recommend giving it go because these cookies are amazing! When making these I had a few issues especially with the recipe being in cups because I forgot that cups to grams conversion is dependent on the substance (why you gotta be like that America?). Also, these cookies don’t melt out like regular cookies so when I say flatten, make them as flat as you want your cookies to turn out. On a positive: these are VEGAN and I have included the macros below!


1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking powder

2/3 cup of cocoa powder

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup of mashed avocado

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/3 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup of vegan chocolate chips (I used Sainsbury’s free from chocolate buttons)



  1. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper and pre-heat the oven to 180’c
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder in a bowl
  3. In a separate bowl beat together the coconut oil, avocado, granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy and then add the vanilla extract
  4. Fold in half of the flour mix, add the almond milk and then fold the remaining flour mix followed by the chocolate chips
  5. Roll the cookie dough into tablespoon balls and flatten them out on the baking tray about two inches apart
  6. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, once finished leave to cool and move to a cooling rack

Calories: 142 kcal

Carbohydrates: 23 grams

Fat: 8.2 grams

Protein: 3 grams

Photo Diary: San Fransisco

My lack of content lately has given me an idea to revisit old memories and share photos with you guys that I haven’t shared before. So it’s kind of going to be like a series however, i’m not sure how often i’l be doing them. As well as you guys getting to see more photos it’s going to help me practice my editing more because at the moment I don’t have many new photos to edit. It turns out that the phrase painted lady is used for any Edwardian house that is painted with three or more bright colours it just so happens that there are seven in a row here.

Spooky Banana’s

Happy Halloween! This week obviously had to be halloween themed and I was torn between pumpkin carving or a halloween bake. I went for the halloween bake. It’s a very quick and easy recipe that anyone can do and they are also super cute! Here are my spooky banana ghosts…

What you will need:


White chocolate

Chocolate chips

That is basically it!


  1. Cut the bananas in half. I only used four bananas to make enough for everyone in my family but you can use more if your having a halloween party or a small gathering.
  2. Place the bananas on a baking tray with grease-proof paper and place in the freezer for two hours.
  3. Once the two hours is up, melt the white chocolate in a bowl over a pan with boiling water.
  4. Dunk each banana half in the white chocolate ensuring they are fully covered. To make this easier you can place lollipop sticks into the bottoms of the bananas before freezing. I didn’t do this and just embraced getting messy using my hands to dunk them!
  5. Place the chocolate chips as eyes onto the bananas, make sure you do this quickly because the chocolate will harden onto the frozen banana quickly.
